Although Oppo’s fresh S11 likely has SmartQ’s latest beat in the attractiveness department, the SmartQ T5-II is the unanimous champion in terms of sheer utility.
Not only can this handheld handle MP3, OGG, WMA, FLAC, APE, AAC, WAV, AVI, XviD, DivX, MPEG and MP4 files (just to name a few), it also features a video output, SDHC expansion slot, six-band equalizer and a 600MHz processor.

“What a bunch of crap. Why can’t anyone get these? Is it because they are THAT GOOD? Apparently. I want a player that has video out, plus one set up for playing games, and so far, this is the only one that has all that and plays more than just NES games. I’ve been waiting months for someone to get these. The UI is kickin, and it even shows the album covers! Plus the firmware is updated OFTEN which is always a plus.”

很多人可能还不晓得什么是mp5吧。这几天碰见的朋友，和他们聊起了mp5，才发现绝大多数的朋友都不知道什么是mp5。或许，我该试试看解释一下。
在mp5之前，当然就是mp4了。除了能够播放音乐之外，大部分的mp4只能播放一些特定的文件格式，rm 或rmvb 格式的视频文件肯定是被拒于门外的。 可是爱上网的人们都知道，网上的那些视频资源，超过90% 都是rmvb 格式，因为档案小，质量高！所以几乎清一色的都是采用这样的格式在发布。
从前我在外地工作的时候，很多时候都花在公共交通工具里。所以很希望有这样的一个媒体播放器能够播放rmvb 格式的视频，那我在那段“无事可做、只能望着窗外”的时间里，至少有些寄托，容易打发时间过。但是找了很久都找不到。当时没有一个是可以播放rmvb 格式的。想过要转换格式，转去普通的mp4能够播放的格式，可是那个工程之复杂费时令我却步，而且在找不到好的转换软件之下，我还是选择了放弃。费时去转换，我倒不如直接在电脑上看了省事省时。而且转换了之后，那个画面质量实在让我不敢恭维。
机缘巧合，我碰见了智器的T5。那是第一代的mp5，除了集合了mp4原有的功能，最重要的是，它能够无需转换就直接播放rmvb视频格式文件。刚开始的时候不敢贸然下手，因为对它其实不是很了解，而且明白既然市场上已经有人在开发这玩意儿，那肯定也有很多商家也在推出这样的产品，我再等等看也不迟。辗转又过了几个月到大半年的时间，我自己在网上做了一些资料收集，等到智器推出了第二代的T5-II, 我就对自己说，这就是我要的。因为T5-II 有外接电视播放的功能，当然外接电视的画面质量不能和播放器本身播放媲美，但是效果也可算是在能够接受的范围里了啦。
拥有了这个T5-II了之后，很多时候它是在我一个人吃饭的时候陪伴我。因为里头有电子书的功能。我把卫斯理的电子书一本一本的放进去，吃饭的时候，就可以重温那些故事里的科幻迷人的情节了。这样子的午饭时间其实还过得挺充实的。工作了一整天都开电脑，晚上回到家的时候，我真的不想再开电脑了，可是入睡前总有一段时间可以打发。在无法开灯的情况下，T5-II 还是我的贴心良伴。当然，眼睛会比较吃力，但是看的人当然要自己看好时间，该休息的时候，还是得休息啊！
其他功能包括：听歌，听收音机的广播，看图片，玩游戏和录音功能。
现在T5-II 也推出了一个Lite 的版本，其实就是只是少了外接电视的那一项功能。价格便宜不少。如果不需要外接电视的话，我觉得这样的版本也很合乎需求的了。
